Windows 98/ME Install Instructions
IMPORTANT: Be sure to install the driver and SHUT DOWN your computer before connecting your Razer Boomslang to the computer port. If you are using a PS/2 connections, it is critical that the computer be turned OFF when making the connection.

1. Turn on your computer (do not connect your Razer Boomslang).
2. Insert the Razer CD into your CD-ROM drive. The start-up screen appears. Click NEXT.
3. Read the license agreement and click NEXT.
4. Indicate whether you are using a USB or PS/2 connection. Click NEXT.
5. Select the Program Folder where the driver software will reside. Click NEXT.
6. The install screen appears. The software will load automatically.
7. A screen appears indicating that the installation is complete. Click FINISH.

PS/2
1. Attach the PS/2 Adapter to the Razer cord and plug it into the computer's PS/2 port.

2. Restart your computer.

3. When prompted, select a PS/2 device to replace with the Razer driver. In most cases this is the PS/2 Compatible Mouse Port. (We do not recommend replacing a laptop built-in pointing device.) You will then be prompted to reboot your system.

4. A window will appear giving an option of registering electronically immediately or later. If you choose later, find the Register Your Razer REGISTERING link in your Razer menu or visit www.razerzone.com.

USB
1. Your computer will restart. If your computer does not restart, go to "Start" and "Restart" your computer. Plug the cord into the USB port at any time after your computer has rebooted. Your computer will shut down. If your computer does not restart, go to "Start" and "Shut Down" your computer.

2. A window will appear giving you an option of registering electronically right away or putting it off until later. If you choose later, find the "Register Your Razer" link in your Razer menu or visit www.razerzone.com.

Windows 2000/XP Install Instructions

1. With your computer on, log in as Administrator.

2. Plug the mouse into the USB port.

3. Windows will prompt you through installing generic USB mouse drivers.

4. Insert the Razer driver CD into your CD-ROM driver. The Setup screen appears. Click NEXT.

5. Read the license agreement and click NEXT.

6. Indicate whether you are using a USB or PS/2 connection. Click NEXT.

7. Select the Program Folder where the driver software will reside. Click NEXT.

8. Select the location for the Razer menu. Click NEXT.

9. The install screen appears. The software will load automatically.

10. A screen appears indicating that the installation is complete. Click FINISH.

11. Restart your system.

12. A window will appear giving you an option of registering electronically right away or putting it off until later. If you choose later, find the "Register Your Razer" link in your Razer menu or visit www.razerzone.com.

When you install the XP driver into one USB port, and later plug the Razer into another USB port, it will not automatically use the Razer driver. We recommend you assign a permanent port for the Razer mouse.

If the Razer doesn't install automatically:

In Windows 98, and Windows ME, click START on the Taskbar and select RUN. From the Run dialog box, select or type D:\SETUP (where "D" is the CD-ROM drive) and click OK.
